Crushing & Screening Automation

Crushing & Screening Automation
Automation systems used in crushing and screening plants are controlled via PC, PLC, SCADA, or HMI depending on the general layout of the plant and motor power. Although automation investment may seem costly at first, it provides high efficiency and profitability in the short term. It eliminates operator errors, increases plant capacity, and ensures safety of both personnel and equipment.
Monitoring, Control, and Reporting with Automation
In PLC and screen-controlled systems, the following operations are continuously monitored, controlled, and reported:
- Sequential start and stop timing settings
- Motor status and faults (e.g., switch and contactor failures)
- Real-time flow rate and production monitoring via belt scales
- Crusher current monitoring and dosage control
- Password-protected operator authorization
- Daily production and energy consumption reports
- Remote monitoring and intervention capability
Motor Controls: Start and stop time delays ensure sequential and controlled operation of motors. This extends motor lifespan and supports efficient plant operation.
Alarms and Easy Intervention: Data such as motor faults, silo overflows, temperature, and oil pressure are monitored through the system. Alarms are tracked via SCADA or touch panels to enable rapid intervention.
Feeder and Conveyor Settings: Feeder motor speeds are automatically adjusted according to plant capacity. Additionally, the active/passive status of switches and guard signals on conveyor belts is monitored to prevent unnecessary stoppages.
Reporting and Tracking: Total and shift working hours for the entire plant and key motors are monitored, while production and stock reports can also be tracked via belt scales.
These automation systems ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and sustainability in crushing and screening plants.
